Guest guest
Hej Sonja, If you are looking for some food and diet suggestions, you might try looking in our " Files " section. If you go there and click on " Nutrition " , you will find a diet tips sheet that I prepared that has all kinds of suggestions for suitable foods that meet our low fat requirements. You may not be able to get some of these products in Sweden, but I'm sure that after reading the suggestions, you'll get some ideas that you can adapt to products in Sweden. When I was visiting my brother in Stockholm, the meals there always seemed to be centered around potatos, fish, sour cream and cheese. These must be regular staples in the Swedish pantry? We ate a lot of herring, which Marc would catch on a rod that had eight or more hooks on the line. I remember my kids thinking that was such a fun way to fish! I think the Pancreon would give a misleading result. To be most effective, you want to try the test without the aid of pancreatic enzymes, because they do alter the results. Truthfully, while I never thought about it at the time, I did have a unusual urge for sweets just prior to my diagnosis of diabetes. I craved sweets, was eating low fat ice cream every night, and sucking on jelly beans every day. Hindsight now suggests that there may be some correlation with diabetes onset, as I've never been much of a sweet-eater in the past. Your ability to only be able to tolerate small amounts of food is also common with CP. Our doctors often advise us to eat sparingly, but often. Or if they don't mention it, many of us learn to do this on our own. It seems to work better to eat several nourishing snacks throughout the day, sort of like " grazing " all day, other than two or three large meals. I hope today finds you well, and finding the answers you need on your own. With hope, prayers and love, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
