Guest guest
Hi everyone, This is my first post here and I am really in need of some help today! I will try to make this a short story......I have a long history of problems with my bile duct and pancreatic duct. I have had 12 ERCPs, stents, spincterotomies, etc. over the past 6 years. I have had acute pancreatitis many times from duct blockage and from the ERCPs. In June I had a Bile duct Sphincteroplasty (surgery where they cut me open and reconstructed the bile duct opening). After surgery, I felt great for 6 months. Then I started having pains again. Even though my liver and pancreatic enzymes were normal I kept telling my doctor I felt like I had pancreatitis. I just had another ERCP yesterday and everything is wide open and working well, so they say. As usual, I feel some of the pancreatitis today and as usual my labs are normal! So....my question for you all is.....do you think I could have some chronic pancreatitis as a result of all the other episodes of pancreatitis? Maybe it doesn't show up on any test? The problem is that sometimes it feels like my bile duct is blocked. I get real bad right upper back pain as well as pain right in the middle of where my ribs meet. Does anybody get this pain (ezpecially the back pain) with chronic pancreatitis? My doctor (who has been great) tells me to go back to the pain clinic and see my general doctor to look at some autoimmune diseases like Lupus! What is that all about! I still have the same pains, why would it be lupus? Any informtion on what you all feel with chronic pancreatis would be great. I feel like I am losing my mind!
