Heidi - daughter's wedding

Heidi,

I didn't know your daughter is getting married. Congrats and happy wedding

planning. My daughter, Nikki, has been engaged (with a ring and a date) since

November 2001. May 2004 sounded like an eternity away when they first became

engaged. The time has flown by and we are exactly 4 months away from the

wedding date today. We began doing serious wedding planning in April of last

year, even though we had talked a lot and began researching things from the time

they got engaged. We found 'THE' dress on only our second shopping excursion

way back in April. It was so incredible that the minute Nikki got it on, Nikki,

, (my 19 year old stepdaughter) and I all three teared up. That was

before we realized the dress had a gorgeous detachable train that wasn't on the

dress yet. When they brought the train to us and helped get it on, that was it.

The decision was made and the dress was purchased!

Things are going well and the first of at least 5 bridal showers is going to be

on Feb 7th. We will quite busy from now until the wedding is over. It has been

an incredibly special time. Nikki and I have always been close, but planning

the wedding together has brought us even closer. Of course, it helps that Nikki

knows that I feel very strongly that this is their wedding and the decisions are

hers and 's to make. I'll give my opinion, offer suggestions, research

and provide info, but I don't get the least bit offended if they don't go with

my opinions or suggestions.
