Guest guest
Things with me are the same. My husband (who cannot cope with this life and chooses NOT to help with treatments) stopped drinking - damn! Now he is awake and mobile more. I do have a question, maybe for men. How do you cope? How are your marriages? Mine was great til 9/11 - then everything he just couldn't handle. He won't go for counseling. I registered at the local College for - are you ready NURSING!!!!! LOL....I am planning for my future ALONE and financially sound. Let pray I pass. I guess I have been kind of down. With the state of my marriage I will like someone died! My kids are fine. Dylan started summer school today and did not want to go. Its hard to talk to others since a) there kids are healthy; there kids involved devolmentally; c) they have a happy marriage and support from spouse; d) they have family support. ITs just me. I eat like crazy. I am afraid my house is going to collapse one day. I wouldn't be surprized if I start getting flat tires. I am OK...I always bounce back and go on! I am tired of being strong. Guest guest
Dear Rosemary , You are strong, BUT-you still need to vent & have gab fests with others. I am sure there are many (sadly) who have that sort of situation at home too. Maybe some don't want to realize/admit it. Hoping & praying it will change or it isn't as bad as that , etc. You know the things that really mean . " NO-I don't want it to be that way-My head is not in the sand " . BUT I want you to know that we are here. I know I can speak for many -if not, I do know I am here . Also by phone if you so want -its too free too --1- You will make a wonderful nurse. maybe wind up teaching them a thing or two. Watch they don't have you teaching a course :) That is why your kiddo's are doing so well -So glad to hear that as well. Just be careful not to bring any " staff " home to the kiddo's....but I know you are fully aware of that too. YES, you are not only very strong, but you are one smart cookie. So go for it!!! You certainly have mine & I am sure all our support.!! By the way, if you get a brake , I am still keeping the light on. LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV Re: Rosemary Things with me are the same. Guest guest
Rosemary, Keeping on top of treatments and meds for three children with CF is a HUGE task! You are doing a great job and deserve a lot of credit. Gale > Things with me are the same. Guest guest
Rosemary, You will make a terrific nurse! Heck, you could probably get your nursing degree without school if anybody checked out your medical knowledge! With such a shortage of nurses, that's a good choice. Job availability is high and so is the salary. Did DH quit drinking because you moved out or to try to keep you from moving out??? On a much smaller scale, after the tornado of '94 that hit here, I became almost a total hermit. I worked out in the yard--picking up rocks, cutting tree limbs, mowing 3.5 acres of hillside. I only unpacked something whenever I needed it. After two years, I finally started getting some counseling and getting away from the yardwork. Then my boss started sending me to business functions as a way to get back involved with people. Everybody has to deal with trauma in their lives in their own way. However, losing yourself in a bottle of alcohol or with drugs is not the way to get your life back together. For his sake, I hope DH can stay straight and begin to face up to his job and his kids. I wish you a lot of luck and send many warm thoughts your way in your endeavors to becoming financially sound. Love to you and your family, Aunt B

You need to stop worrying about what other people think and do things for yourself if that means your house is going to fall a part well you just pick up the piece and move on. You are a very strong person and you deserve better!!! Live is to short to be miserable!! Deb A
