Hi Deb, I'm new so I have no idea if I'm writing this correctly. I

have a 17 month old daughter, Madeline, who was diagnosed at 10 days

old. I saw you were writing about vests, I have heard a little about

them and I was wondering if you could tell me a little more about

them. Where could I go to get some more information about them, how

old does the child have to be to get one, does your ins. cover any of

the cost??? As you can see I have several questions.

my youngest was almost 2 years old when she could start using the

vest. I know when we first found out are two girls has CF know one told us about

the vest either. The way I found out about the vest was a women I meet at the

Great Stride walk told me about it and so the next time I went into the clinic

I ask them about it and they gave me the information that I need it. The

company is Advance Respiratory Inc. and if you need a phone number I can give

you

one but you can't get one without you doctor ordering one for you. The cost of

a vest is really expensive but our insurance paid for most of it and what they

didn't the company waive the rest which is really nice. Our oldest is on a

waiver program now so I am hoping between the two it will be paid for. When we

got our first vest it cost around $16,000 and that was about 3 years ago they

now have a small version which it really neat and a lot easier to hall around.

But I think it might be more expensive but not sure yet because we have not

seen the bill yet.

Randi it also on her from the vest company too if you just write on the

subject line about the vest and Randi's name I am sure he will respond to you.

He

can also give you the information you need. I hope this helps if you have

anymore question ask away. Deb A
