J.J., I wish I'd read this before my first reply. If the doctor made his prediction that it was gastroparesis WITHOUT looking at your films, he may very well change his tune when he gets a look at them. I had a similar experience when changing from one GI doctor to another. I had two pseudocysts on 12 films from the first doctor/hospital which the second GI had never seen. He had a different radiologist at a different hospital do the next CT-scan and the second radiologist reported there was only one pseudocyst, and the new GI doctor believed him......until I insisted that he LOOK at the 12 earlier films. Once he did, of course the confusion was all solved as it turned out that the second radiologist hadn't even filmed all of my pancreas and had missed the second pseudocyst altogether! It all got worked out in the end, but it caused a lot of confusion, disbelief and doubt for a couple months that really held up my treatment. At the time my doctor didn't know me well enough to know whether I was telling the truth, or what I was talking about. You might contact this new specialist and ask that he personally review ALL your films before your next visit and give you his personal interpretation of all of them. If you phrase it the right way by letting him know that you value his " expertise " in this, (flattery, flattery)......and that you want his opinion, he may find something there that someone else has overlooked. Especially since he said he wasn't that confident in the review done by the radiologist of the first EUS that said there was pancreatic inflamation. Flattery often works in moving things in the right direction, and everyone has " some " ego....so maybe he'll get motivated to use his review of these films to backup his present analysis of your problems.....or perhaps he'll see something else entirely. It certainly couldn't hurt to ask. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
