Nordic Naturals and most others use Vitamin E as the preservative,

which (at least in the case of NN) is derived from soy. My son

reacts to all soy forms, not just the protein, so we avoid it. I

guess it would depend on your kid's tolerance to soy. Green Pasture

uses rosemary oil as the preservative.
