Deanna,

My dear daughter , who is 28, is getting married in

September. Her long awaited engagement ring and formal

engagement was on December 21st, and this excited Mom has

been crowing ever since! My daughter is the one standing next

to me in my PAI photo in the photo section, and she's our only

girl. We also have three boys.

I spent last weekend in ton with her, interviewing

catering companies, checking out the church and reception site.

We spent all afternoons Saturday and Sunday looking at and

trying on (her, not me) wedding dresses. I got to be her

assistant, holding up the dresses and helping her climb or

slither into them, and was exhausted by the end of the weekend!

Those dresses with their full formed underskirts and trains each

weighed absolute tons! By the end of the day both of us were

complaining about sore arms after lifting them all day.

It was marvelous fun, a special mother-daughter type of

experience.....and we did find the absolute " perfect " dress that

was so exquisite on her that I started to cry, and all the people in

the bridal shop were awestruck. It was so heavenly that I was

ready to pay for it immediately and walk out the door with it, but in

her typical shopping form, she said, " no, I want to keep

looking!!!! "

That's my girl! I was reminded of why I stopped shopping with

her when she was in junior high. She's a marathon clothes

shopper, whereas if I can't find what I want in 30 minutes or less,

I'm gone.

Sorry to ramble on so much. It's an exciting time for all of us, and

our first " real " wedding for our kids. Our oldest boys just had civil

ceremonies, in fact one of them was in Arizona and didn't even

tell us until a week later, so we're getting really jazzed about this

wedding.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
