Guest guest
Heidi, I hate to throw a wet blanket on things..but this might concern your daughter's thyroid problem...if a doctor has diagnosed your daughter with a thyroid problem, that is already classed as a preexisting condition, even if she has had no treatment for it...some will even say that even if a doctor has not diagnosed anything but symptoms have been around for some time, that too would be a preexisting condition..which I think is totally unfair...but..I hope I am wrong... When I moved over here, I thought I would be lucky enough to start from scratch as I had NO previous insurance history or medical history in this country, yet I had to list any conditions I had and for my familial polyposis, I had to admit to, because doctor's records would show previous surgery for it...and all my ongoing problems now stem from that... It would be something to definitely seek an answer to...I had to wait a year before I could have my regular checkups, but I was lucky...I was on yearly checkups in australia, and I made sure I had my last checkup just before i moved over here and got put on my husband's insurance policy.
