Those of you out there that work for a company that's self-insured

don't give up hope. My husband's company is self-insured with Cigna

servicing it. Terri at Cigna finally got my fax and said it would

not even be reviewed because our policy excludes all WLS. She

suggested I talk to the benefits person at the company which is what

had said to do. I called and talked to the benefits person and

explained about the surgery and the health problems I am having from

being morbidly obese. She called me back later and said I had one

option. They would pay " out of network " . I agreed to this right

away. It means after a $250 ded., they pay 70% and I pay 30%.

said the company can override the ins. co. if self-insured and she

was right (as usual). This was such great news.

I also saw my PCP last Fri. (after my 3 mo. wait on apt.) and she

agreed to support me. She did the pre-op physical and ran all the

tests. I am just waiting for her letter and copies of my records to

mail my package in to Dr. Rutledge. Then I pray for it to be

accepted.

I want everyone on this list to know how much I appreciate all the

information, advice, and hope you give all of us pre-ops. Thank you,

thank you, thank you.

And Lara, don't give up. You will get there. Anyone as kind and

thoughtful as you will get the help you need. I'm praying for you.

You can do it.
