Yes, we have to be very careful when we get a cold or sick with something else. I was never one to go to the doctor unless I absolutely HAD to. I'm still that way, but I know when I ABSOLUTELY have to. LOL Ask your rheumy, he should give you instructions when to see him or go to the ER. In my opinion, if it involves any breathing problems, I would head straight to the ER and not hesitate. Please get better and let us know what you find out.
