To all those who have decided to join the exercise group just want to say that if you are going to walk, please, start out slowly. A person doesn't have to speed walk to get the benefits of walking. A little ways each day is great and slowly increase the distance. I

Hey will walking down the halls of my house count and around the kitchen through the dinning area? I have a big house, I figured surely this would be a start.

Lu,

That's a perfect start. You might want to set a timer or watch the clock and

set a goal of walking for 5 minutes, 10 minutes or whatever is right for you.

Try to accomplish this goal at least 3 times. Then add in an extra minute or

two and go for 3 more times. That way you can build up slowly and get an

established routine going. But watch out - it's habit-forming!

Jean, is that when you walk with the poles, likecross country skiing?

Yes Liz, its exactly that.

You may use your cross country skiing poles, but the most important is:

warm up before you go on the walk. warming up is very important.

Now I am just taking profit of the beautyful sunshine, and go walking

have a nice weekend all you, a weekend without flairs or pain.

hugs

Jean
