I started my son on the intro diet today. Is it normal for him to

have diarrhea soon after eating carrots? He ate them for lunch and

dinner, both times diarreah within 30 minutes of eating. Should I put

them off for a while? Is there another veggie to substitue?

The other question I have is how often to do the epsom salt baths?

Thanks for any answers

Before starting the intro diet what was he eating?

How were his stools before the intro (diarrhea, loose etc.);

including number of bowel movements per day?

Did he eat carrots before starting the intro? Before starting SCD?

Were the carrots cooked in the chicken soup and pureed?

From the website http://pecanbread.com/badreaction.html

" Epsom salt baths have helped relieve some symptoms of die off for

some children.

Start with 1 cup of epsom salts in waist deep water and soak for at

least 20 minutes.

If this is tolerated go up to 2 cps of slats per bath.

If this is not well tolerated, cut the amount to 1/2 cup per bath or

even less.

Find the amount that can be tolerated. Hyperness, irritability,

and/or whining can indicate that a person is detoxing too fast. "

To my knowledge, you can do the epsom salt baths every day, some

parents may even do them a few times/day (anyone?).

Hi Sheila, thanks for taking the time to respond to my questions.

Prior to the intro, my son was pretty much eating everything in site

with near zero dairy. He was having up to four bowel movements per

day, very loose. The same was true yesterday, except right after he

ate. The carrots were fixed with the chicken soup in small pieces

and then mashed with a fork, the other time I just boiled them and

mashed them. Today has been better, no bowel movements yet. I

still gave carrots; however, only a tiny portion. I think he woke

up with a tummy ache last night, he rubbed it and cried.

Thanks for info regarding the baths
