Guest guest
ditto ! Lily That is probaly the most accurate scale writen yet. There should be that adendum; or separate category for a level of pain that is so intense that it would force a person or thier family, to drive countless miles at all hours of the night or day to sit in a crowded dirty disease ridden ER for hours and hours just a few precious moments of peaceful relief. The fact that we would go to such a place is a testimonial unrelenting this condition is. Chrissy

Chance of rain on Monday but rest of week suppoose to be between 40 and 50 with upper 20's at night. My hubby has checked the forecast for you !!! Dad still in hopsital but stable. I talked to , she is getting kids taken care of in the event her health and mine hold up we will meet you in Cincy on Wednesday if you are in the mood. You have my celll number, call me and let me know where you will be. Will Shirley be able to catch up with us ? Gosh I hope we all feel well enough for a low fat get together. I will bring some xtra Zofran if you need it. Is there anything else I can bring for you ? Lily from Springfield Ohio Lily I dont mind Nurse Ratchett at all as long as I am not working with her...lol I would love to meet all of ya'll. When I have all the details I will let you know. My appt is the 3rd. I dont know what time about the flight because I am, hoping, with Angel flight. I have not heard back form the. I have not been feeling at all well lately and am not a very pleasant companion. I would love to meet for a low fat dinner. I can still eat just not a lot and have to be careful or close to home if you get my drift. I will take a few cans but not too many and certainly not the pump. I will have to hang the old fashioned way and count my drips. When was the last time you did that; long time huh. Like taking a blood pressure manually; I dont think I have heard a Kortikoff sound in a decade. Well you know what they say about old nurses, they never die they just stick around. You'll have to keep me abreast of the weather for sure. I am a true blue southern belle who doesn't know snow from shinola. What the heck is shinola anyway.... Thanks Again and what is cincy famous for; I'll have to bring the kids back something,. Well if your dad is feeling that frisky he must be feeling better, I do hope so. I kind of like the cantankerous dirtly old men; especially when they are some body elses patient....lol Love; Chrissy
Guest guest
I will leave here at 9ish, go to Asheville and do not know how long it will take from there. Its only 90 minutes from ton to Cincy so I cant imagine it will take too long. I'll land at Lunken field guessing around noon and will call a cab to take me to the Marriott the one by the hospital. They have a hospital rate that is resonable. My appt is at 1pm. I would love to meet ya'll that afternoon as I am sure I will have lots to talk about after my appt. even though I doubt seriously there would be much silence between the 2 of us. LOL. I am not sure how long the appt will take. Probabaly a few hours. I dont know what time I fly out; from what I gather the pilot will work with me on that. But he is going to call me Monday night so I will be sure to ask. I dont think I will be able to do too many tube feedings, so an early dinner would be great; I do still eat just not as much as I used to. You would think I would be thin as a rail; but the feedings as my son pointed out this morning are 40g of fat in 5 cans. Pheewweee I haven't had that many grams of fat in a day in forever, not even on Thanksgiving. I wonder if there is a drug store near my hotel where I can purchase the cans so I dont have to carry so many. I tried to give myself a can via bolus and it made me sick as hell. So I cant push them in fast with a 60cc syringe. Even diluted. I cant wait to me ya'll. I'll bring a camera and take our pix so we can add them to the web page. I'll send you my phone number and stuff by email. You know; I have been kind of scared about traveling alone, but knowing that ya'll might be able to visit me makes it more fun, something positive to think about, the plane thing is pretty cool too. I'll meet ya'll where ever you want; just give me an address for the cabby. Chrissy > , > Weather is beautiful today ( for Ohio ) 50 degrees. I have my windows open. Suppose to be nice all weekend. When are you sending me your cell number? I live in about 35 min drive to the hospital. The hospital is located in a bad neighborhood so be careful. I don't know where the marriot is located but I will try to find out tomorrow. Keep me posted on what is happening. I hope to be there. Love, Shirley PS If you need more information I will be glad to get it to you. Mapquest will be of great help to get to the hospital. Guest guest
The pilot was supposed to call me this evening around 8ish, hope there wont be a problem. It was a lap Chole that did me in, yup know how you feel there. Ok so I wont be sauntering down Goodman drive looking into the widows of bistros. Ooh well the hotel is huge 600 rooms I think there should be plenty going on there to get me in enough trouble. I hope the zoo is safe, it said it closes at 5 so thats early. Your sugeon wanted to mess with a stone on a film that is asymtomatic; why do they always think everything has to be fixed. Every surgery I have ever had did not work out so good. Today I scared myself, I had a hypoglycimic like spell, lasted about 20-30 minuts. that really scared me, must save the islet cells. I'll keep some little candies with me. I forget to eat sometimes especially dragging around that damn infusion pump and poll. You gonna have to have one BIG eraser to get rid of all the crap in my mind. You right, I believ in trusting your heart, gut instinct, intuition, what ever you want to call it. I'll know if he's my man. Aint that a song by Tammy Wynette or something... I can hear it now..... I'll give you a ring when I have settled in for the eveing tomorrow. Unless the pilot looks like Seleck, then I'll call you wednesday morning.....LOLOLOL Chrissy > Chrissy, > Don't feel bad about being afraid of surgery. I have never had surgery in my whole life. Then I had my gallbladder out and wham, bam, no thank you ma'am,,, did I ever have pain. That is when I was dx with the SOD. So needless to say I am very gun shy when it comes to surgery. They found that I have a kidney stone. It fortunately is stuck right in the pole of my kidney on the inside and has not moved at all. I never even knew that I had it, It just showed up on my abdominal CT. The urologist wants me to have it crushed and taken out. I told him no way . I only had one surgery and it did not fair well, so I am not looking for trouble. Of course as a nurse, I know better than that. But sometimes we can not be objective because we are not nurses now, we are THE PATIENT. And you know how hard it is to be a patient let alone to have patience. So take one day at a time. Ask Dr. Mathews LOTS of questions, then we will all have very positive vibes if you need surgery. The problem with you is that you are too smart and know too much as a nurse and have seen alot. So we will erase all of that crap from your mind and send positive findings your way for a great outcome. You just need to work thru your fear, and you will know what you need to do after you takk to Dr. Mathews. You will know if he is the man for you. > Just got directions form my brother inlaw in Cincy. He said not to walk at night alone. The area is not the best and not the worst. So becareful till we ge there young lady ! > Lily > Lily, , & Shirley > > > I am so excited about meeting ya'll that is has kept my mind > occupied.
