Bereaved CF mom needs PenPal

Hi there,

My name is Bridget. I am sixteen, and just over a year ago lost my

best friend to cf...the same disease that most of you reading this

are still fighting today in yourselves or your children....and I

admire you for that. Every one of you possesses bravery and courage

beyond most people walking this earth, even if sometimes you don't

feel that way.

Since my friend passed away, I have become very close with her

mother. Together we celebrated Janell's 16th birthday and Christmas,

all without her. Although it is still very hard to cope with every

single day for everyone who knew and loved her, I see her mother

almost entrapped in life. Although I can talk about Janell with her

and keep her memory alive, I don't feel like I am sufficient enough

to help her begin to heal. She has said on several occasions that she

would like someone to talk to that has also lost a child with CF.

Someone recommended this site to me as a possible place to find

another mom in a similar situation as Janell's. If any of you are

unfortunate enough to have lost a child to cf yourself or know of

someone who has, PLEASE e-mail me at bridget1814@... if you

would like to be a penpal with her mother.

Thank you for your time, and I apologize if this does not pertain to

you!

Bridget,

You are so sweet to try to help your friends mom. I hope you find

a penpal for her.

Hi Bridgett,

What a sad letter... I have a feeling that you would have better luck

in the cystic-l list. I really do not know the address but if you do

a web search any internet engine pulls it right up

I am so sorry to hear about your good friend, but you certainly seem

very mature for your age.

Good luck and be well,

mom of a 10 wcf, Venanzio 7 nocf, Pepe 3 nocf

Bridget,

I know there are Mom's on this list who have lost their child to CF. If you

don't hear from one of them soon, give her my email address.

I lost my nephew one year ago. I know that's not the same as losing your own

child but, it was a big loss for the whole family and I would be glad to chat

with her.

You are such a good friend to Janell and her Mom, too. I know that family

has a lot of appreciation for you.

My heart goes out to all of you.
