Guest guest
Hi Does anyone know if it is okay to take psyllium husk on SCD. If not is there an alternative? Thanks Elaine ( 8 yrs old, ASD SCD 7 weeks)

Guest guest
Hi my son has an impaction which he is going to be given enemas for and we are going to start oxypowder. Does anybody add anything for bulk to the diet? Elaine (, 8 yrs, ASD SCD 7 weeks) Re: psyllium husk > Hi > Does anyone know if it is okay to take psyllium husk on SCD. Guest guest
Elaine, There is a " constipation protocol " on Elaine's website: www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info I hope that helps. I've also read from others on this list that beets, and fresh beet juice, and very helpful for constipation. Beets might not normally be a beginning food, but if constipation is a big concern, they might need to be introduced earlier (peeled & cooked for sure... pureed maybe). Can you imagine a banana beet smoothie? Are you using plenty of green beens and squash? Constipation is not uncommon in the beginning weeks/months of SCD... but usually diminishes with time.
