Guest guest
Hello all!!! First of all, I would like to thank everybody who sent me good luck in my lap. Everything went well, the anesthesiologist had to use a special pre sedation medication to avoid a real bad side effect that I uses to have after general anesthesia, nasty nausea. He used IV Dramin, Zofran and glicose as soon after the procedure and plus IV antibiotcs and Zantac, Tilatil. I did not have any nausea, by the way I woke still with the intubation, not so nice!!! The surgery was done at 8:00 am, at 11:00 I was able to go to my hospital room and at 19:00 I gone to my place. Well, the surgeon did not find any endometrioses, by the way I had a huge hemorrhagic cyst in my left ovary, real big, I lost half of this ovary. It was so big that was bigger than my uterus... In the right, he found a small one common cyst that was drained. Yesterday he removed the sutures and around my navel is still really purple and green. Now I'm able to urinate without pain, but in the first 3 days, it was horrible. I'm not bloated anymore, but in the first morning after the surgery I woke up really puffed, incl. my face, fingers, etc... The pain that I was having before the lap, gone. I only bleed for 3 days. At 9 th. January, I will see my gyn. and show the tape and biopsy for her. The nurses from this hospital were really great. By the way, one thing that I became a little bit sad, was about my left ovary. I only knew that I lost half of it, yesterday, when he gave me the biopsy result and the description about what was done. He said nothing about it in the hospital, neither for my husband. He only talked about the huge hemorragic cyst. It was my organ, I saw in the tape that it was not in good shape, but I would like to know what was done. The recovering is doing OK. Sorry to be long, Liane
Guest guest
Liane, That's too bad about you waking while still intubated, it seems that is a problem with several of our members that has been under discussion this week. For some of us, I do think it may be because of our regular use of narcotics and that we need a higher level of medication for sedation. I am sorry for the loss of your ovary, but you know that they did what they could to protect your health. I hope that everything will be resolved when you see your gyn in January, and that you can rest well and without stress during the holiday. Please let us know what you learn after seeing the doctor in January. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
