Guest guest
To change the subject a bit. We are now 3 months into SCD. My oldest, 6 ASD, made a lot of progress with other interventions, we are now fine tuning his treatment with SCD. It seemed he was able to progress faster with the food than my youngest , with no diagnosis but some major bowel issues and previously confirmed yeast, fungus and bacteria. We backed off a month ago, taking out the nut flours, butters and going back to all cooked fruits and veggies. Well, my boy is kicking butt, now, literally. LOL! The last two days he has had the most normal poops. Brown, formed and very little undigested food. Before this, and even on SCD but going too fast with foods, he would have orange-yellow fluffy poops with about 50% undigested food in it. They were formed but would explode as soon as flushed-sorry, gross, I know. I am thrilled! Behaviorally, I haven't seen much change. Even though he's typical, he's got some ASD traits with attention and sensory issues. I hope that will come soon! He is one difficult kid, much harder than my spectrum one! Guest guest
Yay! I want to add that my youngest son Ben is pretty much " cured " . Yeah, still catching up on a bit of language. Sensory issues mostly gone, even gets hair cuts with a little balloon bribery. His failure to thrive has turned into a failure to fail. He is catching up in size for his age, and increasing muscletone. Still a skinny kid. He has alot of language, still working with him to speak clearer, he speaks in sentences and has perfect receptional understanding. His fungal cysts around his rectum are completely dormant, since a few months going on SCD...that means, NO SURGERIES! Yippee! Leaky gut is bye bye. Still a tiny bit of fermentation issues, but no more balloon belly, or belly pain. A tiny bit of yeast here and there, it has become easier to manage, no more skin problems. He interacts with others. My other son Hunter was more severe autistic, and we are not all the way there yet with his healing, but he has left deeper autism for milder autism, he speaks, he interacts with others, he maintains eye contact, he has lost most of his sensory issues, he is done with OT type stuff, still a little vestibular issues, but they improve. He is not there all the way, but he is trucking! Its funny to see two different children on different areas of the spectrum both heal using the same diet, albeit slight modifications for the two of them. Guest guest
Yeah!!! Toren is making some cognitive progress :-)... he made several levels in two different computer games in Earobics (an auditory processing CD-ROM game). We've got to keep this up and go even further. Guest guest
Dear SCD Pals, We have truly enjoyed hearing others success. This is so nice to hear from others. It is sometimes hard by reading posts to see what goes on behind closed doors. I was so excited about our progress, I have probably shared toooo much. lol! That is why I am not going to do this as much. Probably driving some of you a bit nutso hearing it over and over again. It makes me happy that others are sharing now. Pecan Bread needs this right now. God Bless all, Antoinette and Family (SCD 2/06 and now healing from: celiac/add,adhd,autsim, mental illness and more)
