Ellen said: I am wondering if putting some of my milk into my older dd's food

will help her get well faster.

If frozen or warmed in microwave or stove, any milk looses it's good " magic "

qualities as far as building the immune system goes. It just becomes a source

of nutrition and nothing else. So make sure that it is fresh milk. BUT

remember what BTVC says. NO LIQUID MILK ALLOWED because of high lactose

content, that feeds bad gut guys, and keeps vicious cycle going.

This is our experience: The way that we have gotten around this is by giving

KIKI LACTASE with each nursing. It is SCD safe Lactase (nothing else in it but

legal filler)/pretty tasteless. Turns milk into monosaccharide in her tummy, so

that it can not feed the bad guys. We found it at Vitamin Cottage. We just

crush the tablets and give powder with a sip of water, rather tasteless. We

have no protests. We are not weaning for this very reason. I do not want to

risk giving liquid milk of any other kinds. We try to follow SCDiet by the

book, and having good results in all of us.

A note: We tried other enzymes and protease caused severe distress in poor

KIKI, much pain. Later discovered that with those with intestinal damage and

inflammation that ELAINE did not like the use of protease. Thank you for

offering your encouragement and prayers, she is getting better again slowly.

Hope this helps, Antoinette (celiac), mom to KIKI-2 (celaic/asd) SCD entire

family 2/06
