Hi All.

I just called Barb and found out that my packet has been approved, my

pre-cert is final, and I'm on for this Friday for sure!!!! I was

given a date last week, but told that it would be changed if my

packet was not approved by Dr. Rutledge, so I am THRILLED to know

that everything is final. For those of you wondering about how to

submit your packet and hear back from Dr. Rutledge's office, I

believe that the proper proceedure is to enclose in your packet a

note for Barb telling her 3 to 7 possible dates in the order that you

would like to have the surgery, and she will email you with a date as

soon as your packet is approved. I did not do it the right way, and

can tell you first hand to be ready to spend tons on phone calls if

you need to speak with Barb on the phone. She is just so busy! She

spends nearly all day on the phone, so I would recommend using email

if possible. It is difficult for her to remember to get back to all

of us who call each day. My packet arrived at the office last

Tuesday. You can use the tracking number on your packet to track it

on the web or by phone to make sure that it arrived at Dr. R's office.

After a few days, you will be notified with a date. My case was a

little different because had been working to help me get a date

and a pre-cert number. I think that things would have gone more

smoothly if I had followed the policy recommended above for

submitting the packet and getting a return email with the surgery

date. Good luck to all seeking insurance approval. I am following all

of your posts and my thought and prayers are with you. Fight for your

lives!!!

Hi !

I read your post above and my son and I prayed for you. I believe

that you are handling your insurance just the way that you should and

I'm SO proud of you! It's hard to fight for yourself sometimes. I

always got so emotional and ended up in tears when my insurance

company was giving me a hard time. I'm so glad that you got to talk

to the nurse. She is most likely the person who will make your inital

decision anyway. Talking with her was probably all that you will need

to get your approval. Be sure to follow up with her soon. Keep us

informed about any progress that you make. I will be at the Fairfield

on Hillsbourough Rd. My plane gets in around 4:00pm. You are welcome

to visit me there, or in hospital if you wish. If you don't make it,

I will remember that you are praying for me and I thank you for your

prayers. I am ready to get this over with. This weight is killing me!

I rarely leave my house because of the discomfort and embarrasment of

being so large. I'll be watching for your post saying that you have

been approved!

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Is it posted anywhere else? I think the website

needs a page with all these instructions now. Especially since they

are so busy. Also, I have Dr. R's and Debbie's email addresses, but

what is Barbara's??
