Hi Carol,

How is the adult version of SCD different from the children's?

I am going to start the intro diet soon. I have stopped all grains now

and have been gluten and dairy free for a year and a half.

Thank you,

June

Welcome, June

Dairy is used on this list but is NOT MANDATORY.We use yogurt made with goat's

milk

which is very effective in combatting toxins and bad bacteria. Adults use cow or

goat milk.

Many but not all children require enzymes and supplements at least in the

beginning.

Some medications an adult uses like aceteminiphen are not suitable for children;

they

would be better with Ibruprofen. Children benefit from activated charcoal and

epsom salt

baths when they are experiencing " die off " symptoms. Adults rely less on them.

We have a

timeline list of e suggested guidelines for adding new foods very gradually fbut

they are it

is not a required part of the diet.

Some children do SCD nut, dairy or egg free. Some are able to tolerate these

foods as they

progress.

There is much useful information on this link:

The official SCD web site is:

www.breakingtheviciuscycle.info

There are other support list for adults listed on the site but you are very

welcome here as

well.
