Guest guest
Hi all, This afternoon I drove to Savannah to pick up my script for a refill of my Percocet. Ever since my hospitalization in October, I have been getting a script for 2 Percocet 10/325 to be taken for breakthrough pain every 4-6 hours as needed. My GI and I had discussed the need for stronger pain medication while I was recovering from my last acute CP attack, and he upped my Duragesic patch to 50 mgs. from the earlier 25, and the Percocet 10/325 dosage from I to 2. After filling the prescription at my pharmacy, I read the label and it said " 1 tablet every 4-6 hours " .....instead of the accustomed 2! After checking with my pharmacist to be certain that he'd read the script correctly (he had), I called my doctor's office to find out why the script was wrong. My favorite nurse answered and I explained my problem. She put me on hold for a couple minutes, and then came back and said that she'd spoken with the doc and he had said 1 tablet only! Then I explained to her that this script wasn't what he'd been prescribing since October, and she could check the records and see that, she said she would have to check my chart and get back with me tomorrow. So now I'm wondering what's going on. I've found that 1 isn't enough to provide enough relief from these pain episodes, and I hope the doctor will listen to reason and go back to what he was prescribing before. This came as especially rough news today since I've been having a hard time of it ever since noon, in fact, the pain's been climbing all afternoon and tonight has intensified dramatically, along with the severe back pain that is usually a precursor to a bad attack. If I start feeling nausiated, then I know I'm in real trouble, but so far nausea hasn't set in. Everything else just hurts so badly that I'm going to climb into bed and see if I can't chase it away with the heating pad. Hope that everyone else is doing better than this. Guest guest
Heidi, I am so sorry you are feeling bad. It seems we are all having a tough time of it right now. Could it be the Dr. doesn't want you taking so much Tylenol? I hope things get resolved with the prescription soon. My Dr. upped my pain meds on Saturday to the Percocet 10/325 on Saturday and I had a very hard time finding it. The pharmacy I usually use told me they won't stock it because of theft problems, and I received the same answer from all of the larger pharmacies here too. I finally found it at little mom and pop type place and he said to call them a few days ahead of time next time because he would also have to order it, since he will no longer be stocking it. Have you had this problem getting your meds.? Simi Valley, CA Dosage Dilema a..
