Hi April,

I can't answer your questions about Paxil or other drugs.

We buy activated charcoal at kirkmans (www.kirkmanlabs.com)

I also love my yogurt maker!! Yogurt every morning for breakfast...I

love it!

trouble with SCD. Some recipes taste less than desirable. I really

want some good bread!!!! No matter what we are staying with the

yogurt. I will get my $39.99 out of that machine. Its really nice.

My gut is fighting back. Can't find activated charcoal and the

pharmacy guy looked at me like a terrorist buying amonia or

plutonium!!! I'm just a mom with a special kid for goodness sakes.

After we get tests back from Great Smokey Labs on the BM samples will

probably start enzymes. At least no-phenol.

Welcome to the group ,

> I am new to the SCD, and have read a few messages recommending

the use of activate charcoal. What is it, why do you need it, and

where do you get it?

Activated charcoal is carbon that has been treated to increase it

absorption power.

It can be used for excess intestinal gas, to absorb some poisons and

in the case of SCD help relieve die off symptoms by absorbing toxins

released from the death of the harmful microbes.

Many pharmacies sell it in capsules etc. Just check with the

pharmacist to ensure there are no illegal ingredients. Some of them

contain sugar etc.

The activated charcoal should not be used long term.
