Thanks for the update Tricia!!! Dave is my brother in law and I haven't

heard from my sister all day. Val is a friend of mine glad to hear she is

doing well. O.K. now for my update. I will be 8 months post op on the 20th of

August. I started this adventure weighing 279. As of this morning I am down

to 168. Things have really slowed down but I guess I couldn't ask for to much

more. I have pretty much reached my goal weight since I am 5'11. I have gone

from a 2x shirt to a size large shirt and my pants have gone from a 24 to a

size 12 ladies or a size 13 juniors. Funny thing is I just bought some size

13 shorts and they are already starting to get big on me. My daughter started

this adventure out weighing 350 and she was down to 238 as of this morning.

She to will be 8 months post op on the 20th of August. My mother had her

surgery done on the 26th of May and she is down 45 pounds. My sister had the

open RNY on June 5th and she is down 50 pounds as of yesterday. Heres hoping

Dave and Val do just as well as the rest of us. See Dave and Val didn't

believe in weight loss surgery when I had it done. I was kinda like the

guinea pig. They waited to see how well I diid or didn't do until they

decided to go ahead with it. Good luck to all you pre ops out there and

congrats to all the new post ops. Liz in Ct. 12-28-99 MGB

Good grief!! Something ate my earlier post giving an update on the

MGB'ers having surgery today!! I'll try it again....

Blair is doing well. We chatted a while, and she thinks the waiting

before the surgery is the worst part.

Also chatted with Susie and her parents. She is experiencing some

nausea but is doing well.

Talked to Dave's wife who reported that he came through fine and was

in his room sleeping.

(Debbie's daughter) was out of surgery, but still in recovery.

Debbie and her husband hadn't been able to talk to Dr. Rutledge yet.

I wasnt' able to find out about Dawn...I think she may have JUST

gotten out of surgery.

Hi Liz in Conn.,

I met your sister Ruth and her husband Dave Tuesday night. I sat at the table

with them at Cattlemans, and your friend Val and her husband. What wondeful

people, we had such a good time!! I also met your mother at a clinic when she

was having surgery. I guess I've met everyone but you!! I so happy to hear

how well you're coming along, as I am 8+ months post-op too! Mine has slowed

to zilch this past month. However, I'm not at goal yet and still have 20 more

pounds I'd like to lose.Sure hope it continues, even if slowly.

My husband talked to Dave quite a bit and they have been through some

of the same experiences with their jobs.

Please give everyone a big hug for me and let them know how greateful I am

that the all went well with the surgery!!
