Guest guest
Dear , I cant answer your medical question, BUT do want to offer my best wishes for you to be better very quickly. Those D---- infections scare me too.. best to just be as careful as always ......but even more so. Hopefully the meds will take over & away the bug will go !! This too shall pass. LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV staph. infection advice As I mentioned before I had stomach surgery a few weeks ago. I had a wound infection last week and took antibiotics. They rang me today and said the swab showed staphylococcus aureus(sp?). I am on antibiotics for it now. What I am worried about is of course giving it to Eilish. The dr. said it doesn't affect the lungs like PA, but I don't trust dr's. and their limited Cf knowledge. Do any of you know anything about this bug? Guest guest
For some strange reason, I had a recurrent staph infection that showed up in (of all places), my armpit. It created big lumps that were painful. I was put in Kephlex and it went away. My son never cought it and my doctor wasn't concerned about that happening either. But I did wash my hands a lot more. > As I mentioned before I had stomach surgery a few weeks ago. I had a > wound infection last week and took antibiotics. Guest guest
My son is 9 with CF. His lungs are colonized with multiple organisms including two of the bad boys- pseudomonas and mrsa (methicillin resistant staph aureus) The PA is bad but this MRSA is worse. when its active it freaks out the hospital and they isolate him- (IF he is in the hospital). Find out what your culture and sensitivity report states. See if it is methicillin resistant staph. good luck, I hope all goes well.
