Dear List:

My oldest daughter , who is 8 has been wetting her bed since about the age of 6,

has not wet her pull up for almost two weeks! (She had stopped wearing pull ups

at approximately 2 1/2 -3 years of age (she would still occasionally wet the bed

but it was not an issue). She has not done this in almost 2 years. I also

think I see some calming down, less hyperactivity. She has complained she's

tired. It might be die off.

Approximately, 3 weeks ago I took most dairy off her diet, only very little ghee

and butter.

Some background, at age 6 she started slowly wetting her bed almost nightly. At

6 1/2, her teachers wanted her tested for ADHD. At 7 she was diagnosed as

having ADHD.

I took her off the legal SCD dairy to see if I would get some additional gains.

Although her learning ability had improved on SCD, she was still have some

distraction issues and hyperactivity with salicylates. Recently, I had read the

article " Managing Autism " and the GAPs book and I decided I never really went

very long without dairy. About 3 months ago, I took away most legal juices

(only apple cider in smoothies otherwise she only drinks water) and she did seem

to wet her bed less but still at least 2 times weekly and then sometimes 4-5

nights in a row. She always had only legal dairy but evidently it was affecting

her.

Anyway I plan to go without dairy for a while and do nut yogurt instead. Then I

will try to introduce the yogurt. I am going to try to wait with the legal

cheeses for a year. It will be difficult without her favorite pizza w/ cheese.

I wanted to share and get any comments from others. I am thinking about doing

the Intro again. I never did a true true Intro. Just fed them lots of chilcken

soup but they had uncooked fruit. My daughter said she may try to do it. I am

going to try to do it next week. I am very excited. Eileen Brown
