Guest guest
Laurie, My pancreatic duct kept closing because there was pressure on it. I had surgery to remove a polyp at the duct, and from that surgery grew scar tissue which tightened all around the duct. So, every time a sphincterotomy was done, more scar tissue would grow and presto, i'd need a stent in, but when they'd go to take the stent out, my duct would be open wonderfully, and the stent barely hanging on, so they couldn't put another one in..then the pressure would eventually cause my duct to close again..it usually took around 2 weeks...Then a final big sphincteroplasty...another stent, and it has remained open so far..I still get spasms of pain, but it doesn't last but a few minutes..but it will happen again to me because I have a mutated gene which can't tell my body to stop growing scar tissue..I am in a catch 22 situation. But for the time being..I'm enjoying my freedom...Merry Christmas to you and your family...
Guest guest
You belong here as long as you want to be here. I hope that you will go and get your entire record from that hospital or clinic. I would not be surprised if that doc did not write you back. You should really look into another gi in your area that can help you. Sometimes to be a first time patient you have to make appts months in advance. Dont give up hope. I keep telling myself that as well. Thats good that your reducing the pain meds, and taking in real food. Take this healing time and put it to good use. Get the rest you need, look around for other docs, get your inner and outer strength back. Please Please get your chart, get another doc. Take care,
Guest guest
Laurie, How are you doing? Dr. Green on Scripps drive is doing my surg on May 31st its a 6 hour surg. I am pretty nervous about it since all the stuff that happened after my bypass but am also very excited at the same time. I have seen Dr. Green's work and he specializes in gastric bypass patients so this makes me feel better too. How's your weight comming along? RoseLLLORY@... wrote: Rose! Cool! Guest guest
Don't let it get you down Laurie. The grumpiness will pass. I'll keep good thoughts for you in your efforts to quit forever. In the meantime, just smile... even if it is a wicked evil smile. <eg> Ron Re: Checking in... You're welcome, Ron. Ehh, I stopped smoking again andam basically just grumpy. I suppose I'll get beyondit eventually. Although grumpy is a natural state ofbeing for me.Thanks for asking.Laurie__________________________________________________
