Ok your pediatrician sounds like all the rest. I don't know rhy they ruen parents off. You have to go with your instinct. It will From: "eventually19" Date: Fri, 13 Mar 2009 05:32:37 -0000<Plagiocephaly >Subject: conflict between pediatrician advise and cranial tech advise feeling a bit overwhelmed here. 4 month old daughter has positional plagio with 5 mm ear asymmetry and 11mm cranial vault asymmetry. Saw people at Cranial tech who recommnended banding. Also met with a PT today who said she would band too. The thing is our pediatrician said that we should give repositioning a try. We were referred to Dr. Graham but don't have an appointment for another 2 1/2 weeks. Also our PT seems to think he will likely tell us to try more repositioning for another month (she knows him well). My wife and I both are of the mind set that if we are going to do this anyway we would rather just get it started so it will be done sooner. Any thoughts one way or the other? thanks,

Does your daughter still have a torticollis or a strong preference for one side? If yes, then repostioning would be neraly impossible, as it was in the case with my baby.

If your daughter were two or three months, I'd say go ahead a reposition, but at 4 months, you might want to reposition while starting the process for the band. That way, you could get the band at 5 months if it didn't work. That early, you'd be in and out of it very quickly. Good luck.

thanks to everyone for all their thoughtful posts. We have an appointment for a

band measurement this week. We decided that we'd rather just get the show on the

road and not end up in the same place 4 weeks later. I like that she will

likely be in the band less time the earlier we start.
