Guest guest
lyn, I also has hypo thyroid. I was told that too much thyroid hormone could cause pancreatitis attacks so my Doctor checks mine every other month to make sure it is okay. Guest guest
lyn, I'm not or Sandy, but it was discovered that I have a hypothyroid condition when I had bloodwork done after release from the hospital after my diabetic ketoacidosis shock last March. I have since learned in my diabetic support group that many diabetics also have this problem. Then further inquiries on the PAI board revealed that there are several of us with CP that also are hyypothyroid. So I do believe there is some kind of connection, I just haven't researched enough to know what it is. I started on Synthyroid last year and just had my dosage increased to 0.1 at my last endocrinology visit. I exibit most of the typical symptoms for hypothyroidism except for the weight gain that some have. I really don't see that it contributes to my pancreatic pain, since I am on medication for it and have not seen any obvious increase or decrease of pain levels. I hope this helps. My Mother In-Law came across an article in the paper a few weeks back asking about pancreatitis and thyroid problems. I am curious since the thyroid regulates so much in a persons body if it could be contributing to pancreatic problems/pain?
