The DOC band (and others) are FDA approved. CT had to provide studies proving the effectivness and saftey to the FDA just for thise issues. Other band manufacturers then followed suit and also got the FDA clearance.

Getting started questions

Hello everyone,

I am a parent who is just starting to look into the DOC option and have couple of questions that I wanted to ask/share:

Has anyone been able to find out if there have been any studies conducted since the inception of the procedure in 1988 as to the safety, efficacy and end results. Since we are dealing with infants cranial structure that is at a rapid growth phase at this time, I am a little worried as to any long term side effects or damages. This could be my simple paranoia, but I just wanted to ask if anyone has gone finding things this route.

Its reassuring to know that. And helpful to be in this group and read the thread

of mails

on the topic. Knowing that most of an infants cranial development takes place

within the first 12 months and having to get the treatment as early as possible

within the window is mind boggling. Being new to this and sinking in the

information is inundating. When I first started reading more about plagio, I was

mad that at the hospital or anywhere else there is no educating of new parents

about it. How come this is not mentioned in babycenter or elsewhere which I am

pretty sure many expecting/new moms read/visit...
