Guest guest
Yesterday we took Lincoln to get cast for his band. He was fine during the measurement part but once they started the plastering he screamed and squirmed and cried so hard he had boogies coming out of his nose and was gagging I felt so bad. My husband held him during the process cause I knew i wasnt going to be able to hold him still long enough so when they were done I held him and eventually he calmed down. The doc was very nice. The place is an hour and a half away and we had an appt the day before with another doctor and then one the same day just hours before this appt and of course i forgot my camera charger at home and my camera battery died and it takes a special kind of battery so i went an bought a throw away and i told him that and in he comes with his digital camera and said I could use that and then he calls me into his office and lets me get on his computer and email em to myself so he was cool. He let another mom come in before we started with her little boy who had a month left and she answered any questions we had about the helmet. He says Lincoln has to wear it for 6 months so till he is 14 months which was a LOT longer than I thought I had always heard 3 months so we pick up on april 1st then go back a week after to check for any sore spots etc. and then every 3 weeks till sept. My husband only has mondays and tuesdays off and of course the doctor is only at the 2 offices close to us on wednesday and fridays and are only open till 5 so thats our next issue finding out how to get there cause we only have one car and I wouldnt want to go that far alone with the baby just in case something happened so we are figuring that out and lookin for decorating ideas

Guest guest
CT just finished their conversion to the DSI scanner at all of their locations (except their 3 authorized licensed centers) last summer. My son was casted for his first band and scanned for his second. Not all STARBand providers can afford the STARScanner (it probably depends on the number of clients they treat), so a lot of them still use the casting technique. I believe the same can be said about Hanger orthos and the Insignia scanner they use. A lot of small independent band providers still do the casting. It's not ideal, but it gets the job done. Guest guest
I was told that even with the scan there can be 3 mm error probably due to the resolution. I can ask more tomorrow.
