You're right, the roasted, salted cashews are not legal. I buy raw cashews at

our local grocery, in the natural foods section.

The almond butter I buy is ground at the store... with raw, chopped almonds

being the only ingredient. I think Maranatha brand is okay... not sure about the

Kettle brand. You might have to get written verification from the company on

what the nuts are roasted with.

Tell them your family member has a severe allergy to any grain-based starch....

and that you need assurance in writing.

nuts/nut butter

Hello- I just need to verify a few things regarding nuts. So I am

looking for non roasted nuts, correct? I picked up lots of bags of

nuts and the only ingredient listed was the nut itself. However I

could only find cashews that were roasted and salted, this is not

allowed, correct?

As far as nut butter goes, roasted is not really a good idea? I read

that it could be roasted with starch, so do you just have to call the

manufacturer to find out? My son loves the Kettle Roasted almond

butter and I was not sure if I need to find a different brand, Thank

you!
