Guest guest
Hello Louie, My hematologist said people who're prone to have GI troubles, do not have to use oral iron. The most common side effect from oral iron is stomach issues. As I have had low iron and low ferritin on and off for years, I've used IV infusion and shots. Yes, I know it's not so nice, take time, and sometimes is a little bit painful, but it works. No GI problems and the absorption is really fine. Talk to your doctor about this. All the best, Liane you wrote: Hi, I have seen all lot of take recently about vitamins, so I thought I throw my problem into the ring to see if this has happen to anyone else. I need to take Iron, as I have anemia. Well, my doctor put me on pills 3 x a day. I took them for about 3 weeks and then I got very bad stomach pains every I tried to take them. I took them before meal, after meal or even with food. It didn't matter, I would get the pain no matter how I took. So I stopped and told my PA who put me on Liquid Iron, well it does work either. I have even gagged on it and when I do get it down, I'm backed to the bad stomach pains . So I quite it too. I do know that I need this. Has this happen to anyone else or do anyone have any suggestion I can ask my doctor when I go to see him on the 26th? Thanks for your Help.
