Guest guest
Dear Jeppe, The conventional methods of where they drain pseudocysts either into the stomach or into the duodenum are not possible for me because of where the two pseudocysts are located in my unusually positioned pancreas. Both locations are too far from these organs to put in the conventional type of drains. Additionally, infection would be a serious concern and dangerous risk because of my diabetic condition. Diabetics have to avoid infection at all costs because of their inability to heal well, even with antibiotics. The fear of infection is also why my doctor has refused to put a feeding tube into me to help me gain weight. Hopefully there will be some resolution. It's really a never ending cycle, though, since there is always the chance of the cysts filling back up again. Even with drainage, this happens frequently. I hope your pseudocyst isn't giving you too much trouble and that your pain has reduced. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl. First time conventional drainage lead to a bigger infection. Second time conventional drainage was given up half way. Both times I was then cut open and my cyste was sewed to my stomach.
