Guest guest
, Since you've been on SCD for such a short time, I would suspect that what you're seeing could be part of die-off. Colonies of bad gut pathogens die from starvation.... then " take their leave " , so to speak. It's common to see all kinds of stringy, slimey stuff and multi-colored stools. I'd hang in there and stick with the diet. Lots of big changes going on right now. I'd be surprised if this doesn't turn out to be temporary... but of course, you should check with your doctor if you feel that something's just not right. Patti mucus in stool I know you guys have said this board is used to and ok with poop questions, so here goes! Does mucus in the stool just indicate irritation, or can it be something that needs to be checked out, like parasites? I suspect a problem with our water supply at our old home- every couple of months I would get extremely bloated and have sulphuric, lighter-than-air yucky burps, and then an attack of diarrhea. I still occasionally get the bloating , a bit of gastro upset and mucus in my stools- with the mucus occurring a lot even when I feel just fine. I have only been on the SCD for a little over a week, so I'm not expecting healing that rapidly. I'm just wondering if there's something going on that needs to be addressed that's beyond the scope of SCD. One doctor mentioned the possibility of Giardia. Any thoughts? Mucous can indicate irritation or it may be from die off or it could be something else. It is hard to know for sure unless you have more information. > I suspect a problem with our > water supply at our old home- every couple of months I would get extremely > bloated and have sulphuric, lighter-than-air yucky burps, and then an attack > of diarrhea.
