Guest guest
Hello to all of our family, I just wanted to let you all know Aimee had surgery today, she had her portacath taken out and a new one put into her Left forearm. She was excited to get the old one out of her chest, she says no more funny looks from people. Aimee did great through the whole process, couldn't understand why her Dad was crying when we left for the hospital this morning. One of the reasons it was removed was because it had been in almost 5 years and the surgeon said that lately in CF patients if the ports are in longer than 5 years they can be difficult to remove, and to day he said it was a little difficult to remove because of degeneration. I just thought I would pass that on to you all about the ports in the CF population. Aimee is doing great, and not in much pain.
