Guest guest
Hi - I haven't posted or been on-line for over a month. I have a frustation. I feel I need to go to overeaters anonymous. Ever since my dr. told me in Sept. that I had gained ten pounds and needed to loose at least five (the last time I saw him I was on TPN so it is understandable that I was down in my weight). He told me " super skinny " people do the best with pancreatitis. I think I have developed a mental block - I CAN " T or won't loose the weight. I think it is because of my thinking in the back of my head that at some point I won't be able to eat at all, so why deny myself now! I know I feel better when I eat minimally, but I have dieted off and on my whole life and have totally screwed up my metabolism. I have to cut to 1000 calories or below to loose one stinking ounce!!! By the way, I am 5'2 " and weigh 124#. I definitely feel better with ten pounds off and my clothes ALSO fit better. thanks for letting me vent. Any words of wisdom to help me MENTALLY STOP eating so much food would help.... AND I am a TERRIBLE salt/sweet person. I have had days this month where all I ate were cookies!!! No attacks, amazingly. Cecilia Mesa, AZ
Guest guest
Unless you are diabetic you can certainly have sugar (to a limit) I eat almost no fat at all, so I do eat plenty of carbohydrates. Most of my sugar is in the form of fruit, so that's probably a better bet than candy (I don't know why you'd even think about eating candy when you are suffering from Pancreatitis), sodas (if you can get a soda down then you are actually doing better than a lot of folks), Chocolates (might be ok, but for me even the slightest amount of dairly causes major pancreatitis pain radiating all the way around to my back and the it takes me 15 hours to control my pain, no thank you., If you like sweet stuff, try dried fruit, that's been my lifesaver and one of the few ways I've been able to get any calories in me during all this (and juice). It's funny, I never even thought of being bad during the holidays. Pain has a funny way of doing that to a person.
