Guest guest
Hi everyone, My son has been on SCD for 14 weeks and has been transformed. He is calmer (very hyper before), has better language both expressive and receptive and the variety of foods he eats has expanded beyond belief. He will eat whole avocados, butternut squash chicken etc all of which he previously wouldn't have touched. He really is enjoying his food. We have not used goats milk yogurt at all. I am really quite afraid of this and we also have not introduced honey. I am sure I have read somewhere that some people make coconut yogurt. I am already making coconut milk into smoothies, icecream etc with great success. What would you recommend re coconut yogurt? I have looked in the archives but have not found a recipe. Finally, I thought we were totally SCD legal but have discovered that Aloe vera is illegal. takes 20 ml aloe vera in the morning and the evening. Is this an absolute no? and why? Thanks Elaine ( ASD, SCD 14 weeks aged 9)
Guest guest
HI Elaine, I'm happy to hear you've seen such improvement in . How exciting! Since you haven't used yogurt, are you supplementing with a legal acidophilus? I know there is a recipe for nut yogurt on www.pecanbread.com , but I don't know about coconut. I've never made either... my daughter tolerates the cow milk yogurt. Here is what Elaine Gottschall's website says about aloe vera: << It contains mucilaginous polysaccharides as well as increasing the release of tumor necrosis factor which is associated with IBD inflammation and increased immune stimulation. >> HTH, Patti, mom to Katera Coconut yogurt and Aloe Vera Hi everyone, My son has been on SCD for 14 weeks and has been transformed. Guest guest
Elaine, Aloe is an absolute no as it is full of polysaccharides and not legal for SCD. Although the Wholistic community raves about its great properties for intestinal problems, Elaine knew that it was rather dangerous.
