Guest guest
Stormy, You're right they are excellent surgeons. I don't about lap bariatric surgery, but it's possible they may do that. They did not perform lap on my sister. Her weight was 360 lbs. She is now 220. She feels wonderful. I do know that Dr. Lamar Snow does not do lap WLS, but he has said that if you want to know who does, just call his office and he will tell you. FYI, Dr. Snow sponsors a monthly support group in Mobile for WLS called Metamorphasis at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. Becky
Guest guest
One of my best friends had surgery with Dr. Snow. She had some surgical complications including a collapsed lung, but that is one of the problems with the length of the open surgery. She had her surgery early last year and is about a size four now. She looks and feels great. When I met her, she was heavy and I was thin. Years later I met her again because she became my son's teacher and she was thin and I was fat. We did'nt recognize each other. She likes Dr. Snow, and I know that he has done most of the gastric bypass folks in my town. He was also highly recommended by the Dr. that ran the Sleep Lab where I had my testing, but I was set on the MGB. Every doctor that I mentioned Dr. Rutledge to thought that I was crazy for going so far for surgery, but I held firm and had my MGB with no regrets! Guest guest
Hi everyone! I am from Mobile born and raised until 5 years ago. I am now in HUntsville AL. I am an RN and have worked closely with a lot of surgeons in Mobile. My best friend just had a roux-en-y one year ago by Dr. . She has lost 156#. Doing great. Dr Snow has done more of these than anyone else in Mobile and was the pioneer of it in that area. His partner Dr Weinstein is second followed by Dr Lane then Dr Hannon and so forth. No one that I know of is doing lap WLS in Mobile except for vertical banding. Nice to see others from an area I know! Georgia
Guest guest
Hi Georgia, Dinah from Andalusia here. I tried all over Alabama looking for a surgeon to do lap wls. The closest I could find was Atlanta, DR. C. Then I found Dr. R in NC. Any my husband said what does it matter where they are, or how close they are? What is important is that they know what they are doing and I researched some more and decided DR. R or no surgery was the answer for me! It gets a little colder in H/ville than in Mobile, huh?
