, I can only imagine how fruststrating it is for you but I

know you can lose if that's the only way to have that surgery. I

thought the weight limit was 350 but I have read where some weighed a

bit more and was able to have it. Do you live close enough to go to

Durham to clinic ahead of time? if so seeing Dr. might help him

decide if you need to lose weight or not! I think it really depends

on a persons build the instruments will only go so deep!! I am post

op and had no trouble at all with the surgery. I hope it works out

so you can have it. I know (goofygrits) has been on some type

of diet to get to 350 maybe she can help. Also another lady Fanney

had to lose 150 or 200 lbs to have the surgery. She is no longer

posting but please don't be discouraged THERE IS HOPE!! Good Luck!

Hi ,

I'm scheduled for surgery Aug 14th...but not with Dr. Rutledge.

My weight when I went to my first appointment was 441lbs. I was told to

'lose some weight', was given no numbers and there was no pressure to lose.

The only thing they didn't want you to do was GAIN weight! My surgeon has

been known to cancel the surgery because of weight gain.

If you'd like more info...let me know. I can give you his webpage. He is in

Boston, MA.

Hugs and Blessings,

Pre-Op
