It can be devastating because that child grown or small counts on that and puts their trust and faith in that parent to uphold the promise and when they don't, the child feels that the person they rely on the most has let them down. My husbands father has done it to him numerous times over the years and there is not much worse than to see that kind of hurt in someone's eyes. I was lucky to have 2 parents who never did that me. I always looked up to mine, to me no one in the world was smarter or could do more than my Daddy and of course I thought my mother was the smartest person in the world. My father could not read or write, but he worked hard and started his own company that my brother and I now run since he passed away in 1997, not necessarily because we like the same type of work, but as a tribute to Daddy for all his hard work and sacrificing. I have lost both my parents and I do hope Tania's father comes around, believe me I learned the hard way how precious life is and to use it wisely with the ones you love!!!!!!! Guest guest
Cathy, What you said to Tania is soooo true! There is a song out now and one of the lyrics is: " Promises mean everything when your little and the world is so big. I just don't understand why you can smile with all those tears in yours eyes and tell me everything will be wonderful now. " I think it speaks volumes. Tania, The power of persuasion is a wonderful thing. You will be in my prayers.
