Guest guest
Hi Chrissy, Enjoy your Friday and weekend. Hopefully it will be pain-free. Well, I'd love to jump the pond to go to the symposium next year! When I retire, I would love to go to the US for a few weeks, if I'm well enough, that is. I haven't decided whether to retire at the end of this year (July 2004) or next. I don't really want to retire at all but as my health is now uncertain I feel as if I ought to retire a bit earlier than I intended (July 2005) and try to do a few things, especially as my husband has just retired. If I'm well, we hope to go to Italy at Easter. It's not far away but it might give me back confidence in travelling. Since I was diagnosed, I've been a bit nervous. I was worried in France during the summer even though I speak French. I just didn't feel " safe " away from my own hospital. I can't remain like that! I haven't got any Italian but a little hop over to Rome and Sorrento should be OK. We'll go to Pompeii....might get swallowed up if Vesuvius decides to erupt. On a lighter note....my husband has taken many groups of school students there. One time some of the older boys were talking graphically about the volcano and " what if we get caught in an eruption? " One of the 11 year-olds was getting more and worried as they neared the summit. He turned, all pale and anxious, to my husband and said, " They WOULD get foreigners out first if it happened, wouldn't they, Mr Brown? " !!!! Optimism is all! Well Chrissy, take care and remember YOURSELF over the next few days. It's hard coping with children when you have this illness. BTW, I'm not labouring the point, but I honestly don't think enzymes count as drugs in quite the same way as most others. I don't think the issues are the same. Hopefully things will improve for you anyway. Good wishes, Fliss
