Guest guest
Those of us who are fortunate enough to be able to eat more than just meat and vegetables gathered at the pool side of Karin Digout, one of our UCLBS members (Upper Canada Lower Bowel Society) to exchange good food, progress reports and SCD chat. We enjoyed: Quiche with crisp spinach crust, Caulifower mushroom risotto, chicken with prunes and olives, two kinds of SCD crackers, mango salad, oriental veggie medley, meat balls in a tomato sauce, banana pineapple muffins, lemon pie, cheesecake, apple crumble, cake with rhubarb sauce, cake with a thick frosting, caramel peanut butter cups, almond flake crunch, tart orange Punch, wine. Jodi Bager of J.Gourmet introduced her new super fine powdered almond flour. We had toddlers and teens who are progressing well and several new adult members including natural health nutritionist Alsop who is putting her clients on the diet. met our Jody at he Washington DAN. As always it was inspiring and extremely filling. The best part was hearing of the excellent progress being made by all present. The renowned St. Anne's Spa just down the road from Elaine's home offered us a substantial discount on a short stay there. The menu is now 25% SCD compliant and I hope to try it. The chef consulted with Jodi and of Grain-Free Gourmet on recipes. Carol F. Toronto, celiac, SCD 6 years
