Guest guest
Hey y'all, I meant to post this last night, but I was too tired. Here's the letter that Chrissy sent to Ascroft. I think it sums everything up quite well, don't you? ************************** Dear Mr. Ascroft; I am so sorry to hear about your recent bout with pancreatitis. As a long time sufferer of chronic pancreatitis; I know exactly how painful the condition can be. I hope that your discomfort will be relieved when your gallbladder has been removed and you will have no long term residual effect. This condition is often misunderstood and has been touted as a disease of alcholics. I am a RN and a mother of 3 and can assure you that is not the case. I was diagnosed barely a year ago and have been told recently that I must have my pancrease removed. I have worked 3 weeks out of the last 6 months and am now considered totally disabled by my physican. I am devastated as I love my profession and the dramatic cut in income is difficult to say the least. I have not received any assistance from my employer as filing such papers practically takes an act of congress. I sincerely hope and pray that your condition will improve dramatically post operatively. Pancreatitis is a confusing and frustrating illness to deal with. There is little known about this organ or the disease and finding appropriate treatment can be extremely frustrating. I was very fortunate to have joined an online support group; Pancreatitis Association International; and have learned a great deal from the members of this group. For each member, and there are nearly 1000, there is a different story and a different medical approach. Please consider this an invitation to join our group to at the very least let us know how you have progressed post operatively. The home page is www.pancassociation.org . Again it is my sincerest wish that you are well and on your way to a complete cure. Warmly, D. Rowland RN BSN POB 401 McClellanville SC 29458 *********************** Chrissy, that's a lovely letter. I'll be curious to see when you get a response. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
