did you put it on the site or use it to clean it? I'm trying the eucalyptus

and safflower combo now. The site seems to be improving a bit but I am still

open to suggestions. Her site is always red even when it's not infected it

looks irritated.

Re: g-tube/

Hi ...

Just a quick suggestion that worked for us. We had a horrible site

infection and nothing helped. In fact, our GI suggested that we

call in a plastic surgeon the next time my daughter went in for

surgery. On our own we tried the good ole stand by...DREFT... and

it worked wonders. Good Luck.

Hi Donna,

Yes is on ADEK's and extra K as well. We tried bactroban and bacitracin

as well as the neosporin and nystatin. None of them has worked. She has never

really had granulation tissue problems but sometimes the stomahesive powder with

the nystatin has made it less red. The redness has never actually gone away

though. my concern about the dreft is that like me, has skin reactions

to weird things. Things you think would bother her don't but a lot of the

" gentle " stuff makes her break out. I can't remember if she had a problem with

the dreft or not but the Ivory Snow gave her a rash. Maybe I will experiment.

Re: g-tube/

We bathed her daily when she was broken down. I grabbed a handful

and put it in her bath water and let her soak for awhile. I was

surprised at how well it worked. We also tried silver nitrate, but

we were too late for that to be effective. Our GI told us that we

should get in right away for the silver nitrate if it happens

again. We tried bactroban and bacitracin for weeks to no avail. It

was the dreft that we credit with healing her site as well as it

is. Is on ADEK? I hope you get her site healed up soon - it

can't feel too good to be broken down. Good Luck and let me know

what worked.
