Hi Sandy,

Thanks to your concern about the chief resident. I had learn things the had way

and not if that happens again, I would make sure they gave me pain medicine

before they did it. Well, thank heavens that in the past and I do have all lot

of better days. I'm having a little family stress right now and things a bit

stirred up. My sister-in-law isn't doing well at all. She had to go for a Ct

scan today. It seem she won't eat or drink anything and she is so weak that she

can even stand or walk by herself. Today, my sister had her third round of

Chemo and I'm going to call her in a little bit to see how she is doing. But, I

trying not get too upset over both my sister and my sister-in-law, I don't want

to end up with a major flare-up. As for you question, when they put me back

together when I had my whipple done . They took out a small part of my stomach,

the head part of my pancreas(about half of the whole pancreas), and a little

bit of my small intestines, the reattached everything back together.

They didn't save my sphincter muscle, as far as I can tell from the OR report

and front what the doctor told me. I guess different doctors do it different

way. I hope your recovery goes well and you get relief from your pain. It does

take time to recover and it best to remember not to rush things or expect too

much too soon.

Take Care,

Louie in WV
