Guest guest
I think the peds believe it to be unethical to write a script they don't believe in, even if it's not a drug. I don't know that for sure, but that's what I think is going on. Most ortho places do not have their own doctor, so yes, you have to depend on outside doctors/specialists to write it for you. Our specialist didn't think it was worth banding my son because he was already 16 months old, but after I broke down in tears and asked for a chance to try it, he wrote the script and said he would defer to the ortho's opinion. I then saw two helmet providers and both thought he was a good candidate for banding, thankfully! So it really just depends on the doctors you're dealing with. Saw people at Cranial tech who recommnended banding. Also met with a PT today who said she would band too. The thing is our pediatrician said that we should give repositioning a try. We were referred to Dr. Graham but don't have an appointment for another 2 1/2 weeks. Also our PT seems to think he will likely tell us to try more repositioning for another month (she knows him well). > > My wife and I both are of the mind set that if we are going to do this anyway we would rather just get it started so it will be done sooner. Any thoughts one way or the other? > > thanks, > > > > >
