What can I put on rash spots?

My 9 mth old son has been in his Hanger helmet for almost 2 mths with minimal irritations and problems. I've noticed he is itching his head more than usual (on 1 hr helmet break). What normally looks like mild heat rash on the bottom near his neck is more redish than usual tonight. I always use Aquaphor - can I use anything else (like Calamine) for this? Thanks.

You can try hydrocortizone cream. I'm not sure about calamine, I'm pretty sure

it would work, but I'm not sure if it's safe to use in tandem with the band

(would it discolure the foam?). I think I would ask the ortho about that one

before trying it just to be sure.

I would recommend hydrocortisone cream. My son would occasionally

get heat rash under his sideburns and the hydrocortisone cream worked well.

Yeah we use Desonide lotion for eczema and it works well for any band related irritations. Its a steroid cream.
