Guest guest
if it was from the Advanced Respiratory .it wont be taken away. I believe they mean trial by if it works for the patient.........You should be hearing from an Rt soon also tomorrow & they will answer questions also. I am sure there is an 800 # -you can also call & ask them. Best wishes LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEv vest came into today Hi all, we got the vest early, it just came 10 minutes ago =), it wasn't supposed to come in until late tomorrow. I opened it and it has the chest vest, what is the difference between the chest and full vest? I read the literature that was sent with the vest, I don't understand about it being a trial tryout period, what does this mean? does it mean that we are going to get a taste of it and then they are going to take it away? How long are the trial periods for? I am worried that based upon the insurance, the doctors and myself what the outcome will be on deciding if we get to keep the vest. I definitely want it, the doctor requested it by referral so its a safe bet that the doctor also agrees, but what about the insurance company, is really healthy, well except for the pneumonia he had a couple weeks ago, but will they deem it necessary to keep. I apologize for all the questions and the rambling, its just that I don;t see how we can afford it if s insurance doesn't pick up the bill, I am really excited about having the vest, I'd feel better if I knew if we get to keep it. Well, I have rambled on enough, I will talk to you all later. Thanks to all of you for being there when I need answers. mommy of 5 yrs old w/cf/adhd and 2 yrs old no cf. Guest guest
, Let me answer some of your questions. First of all, the Vest will not leave your home unless you ask us to pick it up. Period. We would not put it in your home, tease you with it and then take it away. That would border on cruelty. We send the Vest to families at the request of the physician if they want to see if the Vest is effective for their patients. We offer a Trial Program were patients can try out the Vest for 30 days to see if it will help them. After the 30 day trial period, your MD and our clinical team look to see if the Vest is working. If so, the MD will write a regular prescription and we will submit for reimbursement with your insurance. No attempts to bill the insurance are made until the trial period is complete and we see that the Vest will, in fact, help. We understand how scarce insurance dollars are; therefore, we have to make sure that the Vest is the correct and most effective option for you. If the Vest turns out not to be the right option, then we will pick up the Vest at our expense and that is all. No back billing, nothing. We take care of all reimbursement issues. We will submit the claim, handle the appeals, etc. If, for some reason, the insurances absolutely refuse to work with us (which is rare), then we see if there is any way you can afford it. We find that most families are just trying to put food on the table and have nothing left over. We have established a Vest Foundation which will cover the cost of the Vest. Bottom line: please don't worry about whether or not you can keep it. It is yours as long as you need it and use it. As Elden , our company president said, " Getting the Vest should be based on medical neccessity, not financial availability. " The difference between the Chest Vest and the Full Vest has more to do with sizing than anything else. The Full Vest is our original Vest. It is used on the smaller children. The Chest Vest fits a little more snug and is used on toddlers on up. The Full Vest is as effective as the Chest Vest; often it comes down to preference. See if the Chest Vest works for you. If not, we can always switch it out. has the Vest and will keep it for as long as he needs it; that includes adulthood. Remember, it has a lifetime guarantee. That includes the Vest, the air pulse generator, the hoses, electric cords...everything. And when he needs the next size, just call us and we will send it out. No charge for the Vest or shipping. I hope this answers some of your questions and diminishes some of your fears/concerns. We are here for you. Let us know how we can help. Guest guest
Ours was supposed to be a trial too and it has been here since 1997. We did have a little scare when Ang wasn't using it as much as she should have been and they warned us that if she didn't use it as prescribed (20 min 2x a day) it could be taken back. So we got on her to use it, they called to check the timer a few times and now they haven't called in over a year and we still have it , like I said. So don't worry about the " trial " thing. Randy, the rep who is on cystic-l has said they never take a vest away as long as the patient is using it. So just use it as prescribed and you'll be fine. I don't know what the " chest vest " is. so can't help with that. love, M mom of age 19 wcf and Nick age 21 nocf
