Guest guest
I looked at her pictures and think that her head looks so much rounder and longer. I hope my son makes progress like that!!!!good luck tomorrow.missyFrom: <melanie.watson@...>Subject: nerves about scanplagiocephaly Date: Sunday, March 15, 2009, 5:38 PM Well, gets her head scanned tomorrow at 3:00. This is the appointment that I was told they would decide whether to take her out of the helmet. I recently took some pictures and I only see subtle changes, but there is some rounding in the back and towards the front. She doesn’t actually appear to be that much longer (the goal with Brachy). Anyway, I’ve posted pictures under W in the N file. My nerves are about trying to convince them to keep her in the helmet for two more months (the full 6 months). I’m anticipating that our numbers will be so so and our ortho may suggest that we will have limited growth from here on out due to her age and so it would make sense just to stop. Since neither nor I seem to mind the helmet, I’d like to keep going in the hopes that she’ll hit another growth spurt. I don’t know whether I’ll meet resistance with this or not, but I’d appreciate any suggestions in case I do. I’m not naturally an assertive person so this is difficult for me and I’ll do better if I prepare myself before hand. What kinds of arguments would you use? Guest guest
, If 's latest number is 91% or so, will probably tell you that she is within the bell curve. Last time we went for a scan, Maysa was at 93.2% and said she wasn't too far from being within the bell curve. It was either 90 or 91%, I can't remember. When I told her that I was contemplating a second band, she said to just scrape as much foam off of the 1st one and basically be done with it. She was saying that she didn't know if going through a second band would be worth it. I haven't had another scan yet, but I know that we've had some more positive changes, so to me, it has been all worth it. Once there at your appointment, just keep repeating yourself to her. Keep telling her that neither you nor mind it, keep telling her that there is another 2 months left in the life of the band, tell her that there is still plenty of foam left to be shaved, tell her that you've seen good results and that you'd like to see more if possible. Tell her that this is 's last chance at seeing progress from wearing the helmet and that as much as you wish you had started earlier, the last 2 months could make all the difference. Whatever her arguments, just have your list of reasons why you want to keep going and say it over and over if necessary. Really, it seems like unlike Maysa who has been going to her appointment every two weeks, hasn't seen that much and what difference would 2 months make to them? I'll be thinking about you at 3pm tomorrow, and I'll be waiting to hear about the new numbers as well. Good luck, I have my fingers crossed for you!
